Honey Pot

Mike talked me into camping two out of the four nights of our 2nd honeymoon (to celebrate 5 yrs of marriage, a year late)
   Light house on Hatters Island
Some of the guys at Watkins home told Mike about his restaurant and we didn't believe them, so we documented it for laughs!

Mike prayed for our honeymoon during dinner and when I put Aidan to bed and prayed for our beach trip, Aidan said "mom, it is not the beach, dad said it was a honey pot"

Therefore the trip has been nicknamed our honey pot. We got five days to spend in the outer banks, childless, it was well needed and so much fun!!

Highlights from the past few weeks

My birthday is tomorrow (9/22) and I will be three! I told Papa I was into spiderman so I got a spiderman cake, fishing pole, bouncy ball, and motorcycle when I went to visit earlier this month.
I thought it was fun to drive the riding lawn mower. I think it is a tractor though. Papa told mom to get out of the way because she was in my way.
Mom and dad have taught me that policeman and firemen help keep me safe. I visited Papa at his work and received my own jr. policeman badge. I was soo proud! I also saw the police horses.
I like to call family members on the phone. I am in the mist of potty training which is the reason for the t-shirt. (I had/have terrible diaper rash!)
Dad got my 4 wheeler out yesterday. I like to go fast! Mom and dad have to run to catch up with me!

**disclaimer** Papa and Grandma Warnock do fun things with me too. Papa is just a shutter bug and sends us photos so mom and dad never break out the camera when we visit them

Jackson

Jackson is 8 weeks old (but not yet two months). He has adjusted well to his life in North Carolina. He is 12+ lbs and still eating, sleeping and pooping. He has added smiling to the list but mostly eating, sleeping and pooping.

Fishing at the Lake House

Dad took me fishing off the dock. This is the first of four fish that I caught!
Dad told me that I had to be patient when fishing, I kept reminding him to be patient as I sat on his lap.
Mom, (yes my mom) helped me take this fish off the hook. We caught it together while dad was in the house.

Jackson's idea of fishing was to sleep in mom's arms.
Mom and I are laughing together on the dock, Jackson was still sleeping otherwise he would be smiling. He has been smiling a lot lately!

Staying Active

There is always something happening on campus. I talked mom and dad into bringing my spiderman scooter to the mountain house and they talked me into wearing a helmet (it is the rule on campus).

I am waiting for my turn to ride my scooter. I share it with Assa, my friend at the mountain house.

I am showing Assa how to ride it. He is four and I am two (although we are the same height). I will be three in September, I like to tell people that!
Mom, I am trying to ride, not take pictures.
Dad and I went running one morning while the boys were at class. Assa's dad works at a running store and he gave mom and dad some new running shoes.

We just finished our first week at our new job: Presbyterian Home for Children

Here is a picture of what Aidan refers to as the "mountain house". He now has a lake house and a mountain house. We tell him all the time he is lucky two have to fun homes.

Mike is in HEAVEN!

The softball field with the mountains in the background. Along with softball, we have a sand volleyball court, basketball court, soccer field and challenge course. There is a lot to do on campus!

The gazebo. This past week, the residents shot off rockets from outside of the gazebo. Aidan thought it was cool to watch them shoot off, deploy and watch the residents chase after them in hopes of catching it. Aidan even got to shoot one off.

With the first week under our belts, we can definitely say this is going to be a great opportunity for us to love the boys in our care, spend some quality time with Aidan and Jackson, and fulfill Mike's dream of living in the mountains! (he is already looking at buying land!)

We had a birthday Party for Jackson to let him know we were ready for him to come. Mom says he is coming soon and showed me some pictures of me when I was born to help me get ready. I am excited.

Ever since my trip to the baseball park, I have been all about baseball. Dad took me to Big Lots today to buy a tee. The best part is that it shoots balls up in the air and I get to hit them. I am pretty good. You should check out my video!
Then we went to Jackson's birthday party (a little early). Dad and Mike Mason played with me. I was impressing all the adults with my skills.

Baseball Man

Mommy, Daddy and the Masons took me to my first baseball game! I was in aw of the batter and how hard he hit the ball!

Mom said that something came over daddy at the game because I got whatever I wanted. This was my ice cream treat that I picked out! Daddy said it was his son's first game and he was enjoying "treating" his son to things!
Baseball games are fun!
The Mason's were the lucky family at the end of the game to get the left over fries from the concession stand. They were delivered in a big tub. We ate about 1/4 of them and then had to throw them away. Mike Mason gave me the new baseball hat on my head (the first 1000 fans got them!)

I was telling Jackson it was time to come play with me while mom was resting. I think Jackson is in mommy's belly button. Mom went to the doctor last week and is 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced. I am excited for his arrival :)

Mom and dad were busy packing for the move, so I decided to take advantage of making unsafe choices while they were not watching. They thought it was so cute, they decided to catch me on camera and video!

Daddy took me out on the lake in the red boat. I loved when daddy went fast! I wasn't scared at all (like last year).

Warnock Update!

We have made the move into our little cabin (dad's insisted word for our temporary home). We sold our house faster than we anticipated but have been blessed by our friend Loretta. It was a rocky beginning, but we are adjusting well, with well water and all!

The entry way into our cottage. I like to ride my bike on the porch, play baseball on the gravel strip and throw sticks into the water. This has been a great place for a 2 and 1/2 year old to be a boy.
This is where we eat, play, read, search the internet, watch tv, and well do everything but bath a sleep. Our table over looks the lake so that is fun, except I am always the one to get sun in my eyes during dinner (and it is more crowded since we actually moved in, these were taken before the Warnock belongings came!)
Here is our kitchen. Dad still doesn't like to eat out although we ate out a lot the week we were moving in. I like to call restaurants, food stores, and I like to eat all the time. (Mom thinks this is how I am dealing with the change because I am always asking for food!)
Here is my corner of the room. Mom rocks me and reads to me in that chair! I can actually see out my window into the living/dining room so I can spy on mom and dad. Notice the chair in the next picture to give you an idea of the size.

Here is where mom and dad sleep. We share a room! It has to get better according to mom because I am a talker and mover in my sleep so when I toss at night, I can see mom and dad across the room and want to be rocked or sleep with them. I am just trying to prepare mom for baby Jackson, but she is not appreciative. But she reminds herself it is an adjustment and things (including my sleeping patterns) will go back to normal!

Happy Easter!
Here is a quick update on the Warnock's since we haven't posted in awhile. Mom is expecting my baby brother in June and it is starting to really show. I am excited to play with my baby brother and have really become fond of babies in general. Mom and dad think I will make a great big brother. We are on the verge of selling our home (we are waiting for the appraisal from the buyers) and then we will move into what mom likes to call the "shack". It is a cozy little cabin on Lake Norman. A friend of ours is letting us stay there until we figure out what is next! Grandpa and Grandma Warnock are coming in less than three hours to visit for my spring break. I get to be out of school for 10 days with mommy and daddy and I am just soaking it up. I have become a daddy's boy. I love my daddy! Daddy has recently shaved his mountain mask because mommy did not prefer it and I didn't either :) We are not sure what tomorrow brings, but we know it should be an adventure and we can't wait. Daddy and I are eating popcorn from our air popper. I think it is so neat to watch it pop (I actaully love to watch everything cook from my ottoman on the other side of the counter, especially pancakes) Daddy and I are big eaters so this is our directly after dinner snack!
Here is a shot of baby brother in mommy's belly. I am playing baseball with an easter egg. I can turn anything and everything into baseball. Daddy took me to the woods and I was hitting pinecones with sticks, I have have pretty acurate hand eye coordination.
I am wearing mommy's shoes and hiding behind daddy so mommy can't find me.

A shot of the lake that we will be living on for about 2-3 months until we figure out what we are going to do in the next adventure of our lives. This is not our place, but it is across the cove. It is also Easter so we are celebrating with friends from church!

THE FLU Yes siree I got the flu shot and I still came down with the flu. I was very careful not to give it to mommy and baby brother so they were thankful! But I did snuggle with mommy alot!

Some new friends moved in across the street and we have played alot together. This is Caitlin and I reading on my couch. Caitlin and her brother Bryson came over to play with me while their parents went out. Mom's decision of two children was reconfirmed even though we were excellent.
Here we are at the neighborhood easter egg hunt.
Baby Joesiah was born! Joesiah's parents are good friends of ours and I was so excited to meet him that I put my pj's on my baby santa instead of letting daddy get me dressesd. He decided to take advantage of this fun time and take pictures of us. Here is baby Santa dressed in my pj's and diaper.

In Toledo, daddy and grandpa took me sledding for my first time. I LOVED it!
Then I beat daddy in a game of air hockey. I was pretty good!
My cousin Tye arrived and we played endless games of ring around the rosie. The best part was "we all fall down"!
Finally grandma played one of my new christmas games. You drive and it shows up on the television!

I had tons of fun at the pumpkin farm with my friend Noah. It was probably one of my favorite times based on my interactions with the different stations. I was too busy looking at the tractor that I didn't have time to look at the camera
The man said I could drive his tractor. It was the same tractor that took me on a ride around the farm. I thought I was BIG stuff!
There was a big corn pit to jump in. Again I was BIG stuff and I started copying the big boys as they jumped off the side of the pit. (I don't know that boy I just thought that he had a good idea) Look at my air!
They needed me to fix the tractors at the tractor track.
I showed my friend Noah how to feed the pigs.
He poured his whole cup to the goats so I shared.

Move over Tye, I am coming through! I got mom to crawl in the tunnel with me too! She got stuck and I thought it was funny when I climbed over her because she was too slow. We have a lot of fun with the tunnel.
I love to race the cars on my track. Dad says it is a lesson in physics because the blue car NEVER wins! I make it go backwards in hopes that I will prove him wrong.

Our last summer excursion

My family took a final trip to Mount Mitchell (the highest point east of the Mississippi). I know I said my days with the carrier were through but we took it out for another excursion. Below are some highlights
We drove to the top. We are not that good at hiking! I started to do some hiking of my own. I like to go fast. One, two, three, fast and watch me go.
It was a strenous hike to the top of Mount Craig. Mom carried me all the way to the top, we were both tired when we got there. Our view from the camp site. Yes, dad talked mom and I into bunking up in the tent.

Today mom and dad took me to a local amusment park. I had a lot of fun! The merry-go-round was my favorite and I did it all by myself.
I would not let mom and dad stand next to me, they had to ride a horse too!

I was invited to my first birthday party. They had a pinata and I thoought it was fun to put candy in my bag.

The Reid ladies came to visit me. We had a fun playing together and eating pizza and icecream!

Trucks, Boats and Ducks

My new obcessions are trucks, boats, and ducks! Thanks to our trip to Tenneesee, everytime I see a picture of Papa Warnock, I say boat and look for him to take me to see the boats. I have now started riding my trucks and pretending to run into other trucks. CRASH! and mom and dad take me to feed the ducks in our neighborhood and I get to see more boats!

I guess it was worth it.....I also met a girl at the lake, we held hands walking down the sidewalk, she made the first move so it was worth it! Her name was Cloee and she is an older women. I am taking after my dad :)

Great Grandma and I shared Gerber puffs. Great Grandma wanted to know if Kelloggs made these. Who knew they would be a hit between four generations. Grandma got my cousin Tyler and I books for Easter and grandpa read them to us. Ty reintroduced me to the sticking out of the tongue check out the next picture.
Grandpa gave horse rides. I said "neigh" a couple of times. Grandpa said mom use to love horsey rides like this.
Grandma bought me a golf set and Grandpa taught me how to golf. ( We had to learn indoors because it was freezing where they live) Grandma thanks for taping them together, I use them in our yard after school everyday!

Mom, Uncle Art and I walked down the Jefferson Memorial stairs together. I was SUPER tired but refused to nap so I needed two hands.

I love to shut doors, play peek-a-boo and shut others outside when I go inside. I am starting to have a sassy "no" to let mom and dad know who is boss. But they haven't caught on yet :)
Mom just loves my curls in the back. She tried to give me a hair cut but I was not complient so she kept them!

Crowder's Mountain

I have started rock climbing all by myself or at least I wanted to.
Dad and mom tried to get me to look at the camera and I thought it was funny to look away, even when mom was tickling me. I am very full of myself!
I am begging daddy for his water even though I have my own in my hand.
I won!! And this was seriously the best part of the trip. I loved drinking from the water bottle.
Dad says this will be my last trip in the pack since I am 29lbs, but we'll see. I don't think mom and dad will give up going to the mountains any time soon.

Our first Snow day

Mom was showing me how to make a snowball to throw at dad. I had fun pushing the snow back and forth to watch it fly through the air.

Here I am throwing a snowball myself. What fun watching it hit the ground and fall apart. And hey, I like balls so that added to the fun.
Mom threw snow up in the air and it landed on my face and so I tried it and loved eating snow so I stuck my tongue out to catch some more!

Having parents as teachers is the best when it comes to summers and snow days! Mom and dad took me out in the snow for the first time, I had fun watching dad have a snow ball fight with the neighbor kid. I threw a few snowballs myself!

A New Obcession

Dad predicted that my new obcession would be books. I LOVE to read. I am a man after Grandma Schriefer's own heart, it must have been all that reading did when I was born to model good habits. Or maybe it is becuase dad is always reading about building small houses. Or maybe because mom and dad read to me everynight. Or maybe because mom read alot when she was pregnant, whatever it was in the first year of my life, I can't get enough books.
Here I am running to give dad another book while mom cleans up from dinner.

Here dad and I are going through our 6th book and I am showing him where Jesus is. He was reading a book under the book I was reading.
I'll be right back dad! We need another book! (notice my ball has taken second place under the counter....I still love balls but books are the new thing)
Here dad, we have not read this one yet.
It is always good to have two books being read at the same time. Dad gets to hold a book and I get to hold one.

I am actually reading with dad while mom types. It was a snow day for us so we have been hanging out together. Did you see my first snow pics?

A trip to the mountains to celebrate Martin

This is me towards the end of the trip. I was tried and mom and I took a stumble that is why I have a scratch under my eye. Don't worry, mom just got two LARGE bruises on her leg.

A warm day in January

The pictures always upload in a random order, but the following are all from our Saturday afternoon. It was 68* so we played outside for the majority of the afternoon! This is Aidan running away from daddy who is playing peek a boo through the yellow bars. He is running towards his mommy.
Here I am kicking my ball in the back alley.
Mom tried to show me how to hit my ball with a bat, but I prefered to drag them behind me though the alley and yard. I was having a ball without a ball (this time)
I have started going down the slide by myself. Mom sits at the top and dad is at the bottom to catch me. I can count "two, three, go" check out my static blonde hair
Dad is going super fast that is why here is blurry. But I had fun laughing at him when he swung past me.

A Warm Weekend in January

I have started going down the slide by myself. I say "two, three, go" and dad catches me at the bottom, mom sits with me at the top, but in the middle it is all me! check out the static on top of my head!

Dad and I were swinging together, dad was going to fast, that is why he is blurry but I still thought it was fun to laugh at him when he swung past me

Hanging out in January

Here I am reading in my room before my bath. Mom and Dad read to me every night so I decided to read by myself while mom got my bath water ready. Don't worry, my room is connected to the bathroom so mom could still see me.
Here I am watching mom and dad show me how to ride my new horse. I call it a dog, but mom and dad keep calling him Dusty the horse. ( My best friend Jack shared him with me this xmas season. They moved away so they gave me alot of fun toys) Mom and Dad are below showing me how to ride him, I prefered to ride the back of my couch.
My new couch (agian from Jack) folds out to a bed. I love to run and dive on it. Mom and dad have made me stop running because I keep getting in trouble at school for running.

A visit from my friend Tera

I wanted to show you a picture of the tree that we picked out at Lowes this year. Mom and dad decorated it while I was napping, but I am really good about looking at all the balls on the tree and not touching them. Sometimes my friend Tera touched the tree so I tried to get away with playing with it too!

Dad started dancing and I was laughing at him, Tera just thought he was strange!
Tera and I had our first candle light dinner on Friday night.

a birthday and tube celebration

Dad and Mom let me roam the trail after being in the carrier all day. I was a good hiker: no crying just a lot of leave picking and running.
Dad and I in front of "high falls". Mom reminded dad that I am not suppose to get water in my ears, so we didn't get to play long, but I love the water.

Dad helped me get the leaves out of my mouth when I took a spill. I guess I was running to fast!
I was introduced to "leaves" on our trip. We don't have very many trees where I live so it was fun to fun through them, pick them up and give them to mom and dad.

A family photo. A lady told us that you don't get many family photos at this age ( I wonder if she knew it was a birthday weekend for mom and dad) so we opted to get one.

I had surgery this past week to get tubes and mom and dad had birthdays so we combined the special events and went to the mountains. I didn't shed any tears, I was told that I was the best patient! I got a soccer ball and a trip to the mountains. Surgery isn't too bad. Uncle Art is visit ing this weekend so look for some pics of us coming soon!

A trip to stone mountain

Dad did a photo shoot of mushrooms, I thought I would blog one so you could see one of the boringest highlights of the trip. Mom and I made funny of him for taking pictures of fungus :) There were many dogs on the mountain and if you have been around me and dogs, you know how excited I get! Mom and I laughing at dad taking pictures of fungus, he turned around and took a picture of us! Yes, mom did carry me on her back down the mountain. I am weighing in at 24lbs therefore I was pretty heavy.

The day started with me opening a present from mom and dad. I was more interested in the wrapping paper so it took me awhile to see what was inside!
Well....here it is, my very own band set from mom and dad. I loved the drum sticks. No peeking Ty...you might get one of these on your first birthday. I overheard mom talking to dad about it.

The saying goes "It's my party and I will cry if I want to". Actually I did not like the hat dad put on me and well I wanted everyone to know.

) Aidan is four months old and is busy exploring everything in sight. We decided to give him a bath in the sink for the first time and he had a blast!! (daddy did too, taking pictures)
He has finally decided that tummy time is not all that bad....he can finally roll over!
We bought him a stationary entertainment center, because he LOVES to stand on his legs. He has discovered his legs/feet and loves to put them into his mouth.
